11 Days Jhomolari Trek

Day 1: Arrival in Paro, Bhutan

  • Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide
  • Transfer to your hotel and check-in
  • Take some time to relax and acclimate to the altitude
  • Overnight stay in Paro

Day 2: Paro

  • After breakfast, visit the National Museum and Paro Rinpung Dzong
  • In the afternoon, explore the local markets and shops in Paro
  • Overnight stay in Paro

Day 3: Paro to Haa via Chelela

  • After breakfast, drive to Chelela Pass and enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayan range
  • Continue to Haa Valley and visit Lhakhang Karpo and Lhakhang Nagpo, two ancient temples
  • Drive back to Paro for the night stay.

Day 4: Paro to Thangthangkha via Shana

  • Trekking distance: 22 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 7-8 hours
  • The trek begins with a moderate climb through a beautiful forest of rhododendron and blue pine trees
  • You’ll pass through several small villages and cross the Paro River several times before reaching your campsite at Thangthangkha

Day 5: Thangthangkha to Jangothang

  • Trekking distance: 16 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 5-6 hours
  • The trek starts with a gradual climb through a beautiful valley filled with wildflowers and streams
  • You’ll pass through several yak herder camps and enjoy stunning views of the Jomolhari Mountain before reaching Jangothang, a beautiful campsite located at the base of the mountain

Day 6: Jangothang to Lingshi

  • Trekking distance: 22 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 7-8 hours
  • The trek begins with a steep climb up to the Nyile La Pass, which offers beautiful views of the Jomolhari Mountain and the surrounding peaks
  • You’ll then descend into a beautiful valley and pass through several yak herder camps before reaching Lingshi, a beautiful village located at the base of the Lingshi Dzong

Day 7: Lingshi to Shodu

  • Trekking distance: 22 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 8-9 hours
  • The trek starts with a gradual climb up to the Yalila Pass, which offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range
  • You’ll then descend into a beautiful valley and pass through several villages before reaching Shodu, a campsite located next to a beautiful waterfall

Day 8: Shodu to Barshong

  • Trekking distance: 16 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 5-6 hours
  • The trek begins with a steep climb up to the Barshong La Pass, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains
  • You’ll then descend through a dense forest of rhododendron and bamboo before reaching your campsite at Barshong

Day 9: Barshong to Dolam Kencho

  • Trekking distance: 15 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 4-5 hours
  • The trek starts with a gradual climb up to the Dolam La Pass, which offers beautiful views of the surrounding valleys
  • You’ll then descend through a dense forest of oak and rhododendron trees before reaching your campsite at Dolam Kencho

Day 10: Dolam Kencho to Thimphu

  • Trekking distance: 14 kilometers
  • Trekking time: 4-5 hours
  • The trek starts with a steep descent through a dense forest of oak and rhododendron trees
  • You’ll then follow the Mo Chhu River downstream and pass through several small villages before reaching Dodina, where you’ll meet your driver and drive to Thimphu.
  • Driver in the evening to Paro for the night’ Stay

Day 11: Depart Paro

  • After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure flight
  • Say goodbye to your guide and the beautiful country of Bhutan, taking with you memories that will last a lifetime
